Plain version of how Fresher Astra treats your data. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Your resume

The file is opened and checked inside your browser. It is not sent to our servers and we cannot see it. If you close the tab, it is gone.

2. Suggestions in the resume builder

Skill and place suggestions come from lists that ship with this site. When you type a place, your browser asks our own server for one small file named after its first two letters, so those two letters are all that leaves your device. Place names come from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).

3. Mock interview answers

Your answers are scored inside your browser. If you answer by voice, the recording is sent to our server and to Cloudflare's speech-to-text service (Whisper) to be turned into text, and it is deleted as soon as the text is back: we never keep your voice. If you ask for AI feedback, only the text of that one answer and its question are sent to an AI service (Amazon Web Services or Groq) to write the feedback, without your name or email. We do not keep the answer.

4. What we collect

What you type into the signup box: your email address and mobile number, and the time you agreed. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. If you then add a mobile number and a password, we keep the number, and only a scrambled form of the password that cannot be read back. We also record anonymous usage events such as "resume checked" with the score, never the resume text.

5. Why

To send you your report and the guides you asked for, to tell you when a course opens, and to understand which tools help. If you buy a course we also keep the payment reference.

6. Who sees it

Us, and the services that run the site and send messages for us (hosting, email, WhatsApp and payments). We do not sell your data. Advertising platforms may receive a scrambled version of your email only so we can stop showing you ads once you have bought. You can refuse this in your request to us.

7. How long

Until you ask us to delete it, or three years after your last activity, whichever is sooner.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, withdraw consent, or complain. Write to [email protected] and we will reply within 7 days. You can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
